We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated chemist to join our dynamic reagent development team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in designing, optimizing, and implementing oligonucleotide-based bioconjugation processes. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in nucleic acid chemistry, bioconjugation chemistry, and analytical methods. As part of our team, your core responsibilities will be:

Bioconjugation Process Development:

  • Plan and execute solid-phase oligonucleotide synthesis.
  • Design, optimize, and validate bioconjugation processes for the conjugation of oligonucleotides to fluorescent dyes, peptides, and proteins.
  • Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to integrate chemical processes into overall project timelines.
  • Methodology and Technology Development:
  • Stay abreast of the latest advancements in bioconjugation methodologies and technologies.
  • Develop and implement new methodologies and technologies to enhance bioconjugation efficiency, scalability, and reproducibility.

Analytical Characterization:

  • Utilize a variety of analytical techniques to characterize oligonucleotides and bioconjugates, including HPLC, mass spectrometry, spectroscopy, and other relevant methods.
  • Ensure the development of robust analytical methods for assessing bioconjugation product quality.
  • Collaboration and Communication:
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including biochemists, biologists, and engineers, to achieve project goals.
  • Clearly communicate experimental designs, results, and interpretations to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Documentation and Compliance:

  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of experiments, results, and protocols.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory guidelines and company policies.

Qualifications Baseline skills/experiences/attributes:

  • PhD in chemistry or MS with 3+ years of relevant industrial experience is required.
  • Track record of scientific publication/patent application.
  • Expertise in solid-phase oligonucleotide synthesis is required. • Proficiency in a wide range of analytical techniques to characterize biopolymers, with a focus on HPLC, mass spectrometry, and other relevant methods.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively convey complex scientific concepts to diverse audiences.

Ideally, you also have these skills/experiences/attributes (but it’s ok if you don’t!):

  • Experience with oligonucleotide-protein conjugates.

The estimated base salary range for this role based in the United States of America is: $75,000 - $120,000. Compensation decisions are dependent on several factors including, but not limited to, level of the position, an individual’s skills, knowledge and abilities, location where the role is to be performed, internal equity, and alignment with market data. Additionally, all full-time employees are eligible for our discretionary bonus program and equity as part of the compensation package.
